Chance to win a full season of racing with Nismo by winning within GT6 video game
What if you could take your behind the wheel gaming accomplishments and test them at one of the world's most renowned race meetings? Over the weekend, Nissan athletes, Lucas Ordonez and Jann Mardenborough finished 4th place in their class during the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours race. The two former GT Academy champions have challenged the traditional route into motorsports by first proving themselves as top tier from a video game standpoint before actually earning their stripes piloting a Nissan LMP2 race car in Le Mans. The transition from video games to the real track has proven that Sony PS3 Gran Turismo is a true racing simulator.
Back in 2008, the Nissan and Sony partnership attracted over two million entrants for the GT Academy. Continuing their quest for drivers, GT Academy will officially start its qualifications July 2, 2013 and end on July 28th at 3:59 pm PST. Contestants can download the Gran Turismo 6 demo for Playstation 3 and race for the best qualifying times. Prior to qualifying, the game demo will guide players through beginner rounds of a GT Academy-themed race. The fastest will advance to National Finals and compete for a place in the Silverstone race camp to experience one of the best Driver Development Programs in the world. From there only one winner will be chosen from each country for a full season of racing with the Nismo GT-R GT3. Awesome.
Either way anyone who registers and submits a qualifying time will receive exclusive Gran Turismo 6 bonus content. Those without a Playstation 3 can compete in a series of GT Academy Live events that will be promoted by Playstation and Nissan locally.
